It’s summertime! And what’s better than a summertime cookout in the backyard? If you’re looking to change up your typical burger recipe, gourmet burgers at home are totally a thing, and this recipe combines two of my favorite things: crab rangoon + burgers!! If you love them too, then this is definitely the burger recipe you never knew you needed, until now!
Here’s the recipe:
4 1/3 lb burgers
4 hamburger buns
4 oz cream cheese
3/4 cup crab (or imitation) meat
3 green onions, sliced thin
2 tsp finely diced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
Wonton strips
Sweet chili sauce
Bring cream cheese to room temperature. Stir together with crab, green onions and garlic. Set to the side.
Season 4 burgers (we like 1/3 lb patties) with salt and pepper. Grill to your liking (we like ours medium, but you do you!) 30 seconds - 1 minute before you pull your burgers off the grill, add 1/4 of the crab rangoon mix to the top of each burger. This will warm it so it’s a little melty, but not cook it!
It’s best to let your burgers rest for 3-5 minutes after pulling off the grill. Cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
Meanwhile, butter the insides of your buns and toast on a griddle pan for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. In my humble opinion, get the fancy buns for this burger. You will never be sorry for using a top shelf bun for a top shelf burger!
Assemble burger and top with wonton strips and sweet chili sauce to your liking!
Make sure you grab a napkin or two, because it’s about to get messy! You can thank me later!
