Are there lilac trees where you live?
If so, I would love for you to leave a comment and tell me all about them! What time of year do they bloom? What memories do they bring up for you?
Lilacs are one of my favorite parts about living in Iowa in the spring. They are so beautiful … but they’re also elusive and sneaky little buggers too! 😅
We have one lilac bush in our yard, and the minute I see any signs of spring, I am watching it like a hawk. You have to really pay attention because it will bloom for just two days and then it’s done until next year.
Which is sad, because …
There are few things sweeter than stepping outside and being welcomed by the scent of lilacs.
Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always been trying to savor this scent as long as possible, setting mason jars filled with lilac branches around our home every spring.
Naturally, as the owner of a candle shop, I have made it my top priority and life’s work to be able to smell the lilacs whenever I want. 💪
Enter our tried and true spring fragrance, Backyard Lilacs.
It has notes of green leaves, lily of the valley, and honeysuckle blossoms that enhance the delicate beauty of a bouquet of lilac blooms! Plus, we rounded it out with base notes of clean powder and woody amyris to make it smell like real lilacs - not an artificial knock-off :).
PS - Backyard Lilacs was the top seller at our spring open house by those who could sample our fragrances in person. It really does smell like the real thing!
